Album Advert
First
I decided on the artists name and found the font that I wanted to use. I then
put a linear burn effect on the font to get rid of most of the white, before
then cleaning it up with the rubber tool.
Then
I added some effects to the text to create the shadow behind the text. The
effects I used are bevel & emboss, inner shadow, inner glow, outer glow and
drop shadow. I made all of these effects a grey colour as some of them were
yellow to make it look more put together, and added ‘noise’ to the drop shadow
effect to make it look less.
I
then found a font I liked for the single name ‘trust’.

.After finding a font
that I liked for the album name, I decided that the font for the single didn’t
suit the rest of the fonts that I was using.
So
I decided to make it the same font as the album ‘futurist fixed width’.
I then created an a4 sized canvas on photoshop. I used the
gradient tool to make the centre of the page white, gradually turn to grey.
I then decided that I wanted the grey to be a paler grey, so
I added white over the top of the background.
I then added a small amount of ‘noise’ to the white to give
it more of an effect.
I then changed the opacity of the white to 32% so that you
could see the original background behind it, but a paler version of it, which
helps the back text stand out more against the background.
I
chose this photo to use in my album advert because I liked the next photo as it
was darker than most of the photos that I took. I think this worked well as it
helped give the artist an ‘edgy’ look to her. It was also a clear shot of her
face which would help the audience recognise her easily for the album advert. I
also liked this photo because the pose was different from the other photos I
selected.

I
edited out the background for this photo but left the shadow in the picture. I
liked the shadow on this photo, as it was different from the other photos I had
as it was off to the side of the girl, not behind her.
Then I resized the image and moved it around so that it fitted the design of the advert.
As
there was a line at the bottom of the photo from where the photo ends, I
decided to add a black box to the bottom of the advert to make the album fit
together more. This means that I had to change the colour of the text to white
so that it would still be seeable.
To add more texture
to the black bottom to make it more interesting, I added more noise.
I
then decided that this layout looked a bit plain and nothing seemed to tie in
together.
So I tried different background colours that all were similar
colours that were featured on the dress that the artist was wearing.
This was the colour of background that I liked the best as I felt that it was the best match for one of the colours in the dress, and was the best colour that suited the style that I created for my artist, as it is a pink, which ties in with the ‘pop’ genre that I wanted, but it isn’t a bright Barbie pink colour so it doesn't lose the edgy side to the artists genre and style.
To make the pink a darker pink, but without loosing too much
of its colour, I added a grey colour over the top of it.
I then changed the opacity of this grey layer to 16% so that
most of the pink was still showing through, however it is a darker pink this time.
I added reviews by magazines that would typically review the
type of music that my artist would make, and small white lines at the top and
bottom of the album name.
Magazine Article
I created an a3 page on Photoshop and cropped the photo I chose so that it fitted one side of the a3 page.
I chose this photo because I thought it was different and unique as it was taken as she was turning around. I also liked the shadow that was created.
I chose the title 'here she comes' to try and attract the audiences attention. I used a different font and colour for the 'comes' to make the title more interesting and eye catching. I used a colour that was on the costume that the artist is wearing to link the photo with the article together.
Underneath that I added 'photos:Fenella Pinkney' as this is conventional of the NME magazine.
I then addedthe main text for the article. I used the same dark pink colour used before for the names in the article to make them stand out to the audience. It also links all of the text together.
I also added a quote from the article which encourages the audience to read this quote, and then the rest of the magazine to find out what the quote is talking about.
e-Media website
I created a powerpoint slide with a solid light grey background. I used a solid grey background to make the background more interesting without distracting the audience from the text on the screen. At the top I created a red banner on photoshop to draw the audiences attention to the top of the page. It also give the website some colour to make it appeal to the target audience.
I used the same font for the artists name to create continuity. It also allows the audience to make connections between the other products I have created about this artist.
I used a handwriting type font for the menu bar to make the website look more casual and less serious, which will appeal to the target audience.
I then used an easy to read font for the rest of the text so that it is easy to read.
At the side of the page at the top I placed in conventional facebook and twitter links. These will appeal to the target audience as most of the target audience will probably have at least one of these social networking sites.
Under that, I created a small advertisement for the artists album, with conventional itunes and spoitfy links which encourage the audience to visit these links to buy the album.
I then wanted to create a youtube video of the artist welcoming the audience to her website, as this is conventional of a website page. However, as this did not work, I decided to put a picture of the artist in its place.

Then I took a screen shot of a twitter profile that I created for the artist with some tweets to connect the artist with the audience.
I used this photo on my website because I believe that it suited the style of the website well and fitted in with it well together. For the website I edited out the background and replaced it with a circular white gradient which fades out the the background colour. This makes the picture more eye catching.
For the info page I kept most of the top half of the website exactly the same as the previous slide to keep with continuity. I changed the red to a blue to make it clear to the audience that they are on a different page of the website.
For this page I wrote a background story for the artist so it was something for the auidence to connect with the artist with. I included typical situations that the target audience goes through to make it easier for the target audience to connect with the artist too, such as moving house, being bullied and exam worries.

For the top half of this website page I kept everything the same to continue with the continuity. I changed the banner colour however so that it is easier for the audience to tell that they aren't on the home page anymore. I then added all of the pictures into the page on a contact sheet, which makes the pictures more organised and easy to see.
I added an enlarge button which takes the audience to an enlarged version of the photos with one photo per slide, with forwards and backwards arrows as well as an exit button which takes te audience back to the gallery page, which saves them having to go backwards through all of the photos. This makes it easier for the audience which will make them like the website more.
